This is a terrible week for Indian cinema, we lost another versatile actor Rishi Kapoor who passed away peacefully at 8:45am IST after a two-year battle with leukemia in Mumbai today. Rishi breathed his last at the Sir HN Reliance Foundation Hospital in Mumbai. His wife and actor Neetu Kapoor was by his side, confirmed brother Randhir Kapoor. “Yes, he is no more”.

In 2018, Rishi Kapoor was diagnosed with cancer, following which the actor was in New York for more than a year to receive treatment. While he returned to India this year, he had again been hospitalised in New Delhi in early February, while on a visit to New Delhi.

Rishi Kapoor was the son of the man India call the showman, Rishi Kapoor, and grandson of the famous Prithviraj Kapoor. He started his career early, as a child actor in his father’s film Mera Naam Joker (1970), for which he also won a Filmfare Award. His first role as an adult came in the iconic Bobby (1973) opposite Dimple Kapadia. He also received the Filmfare Best Actor Award in 1974 for the film. He was part of hit films such as Amar Akbar Anthony, Laila Majnu, Rafoo Chakkar , Sargam, Karz, Bol Radha Bol and others. In the later stage of his career, he was seen in films such as Kapoor and Sons, D-Day, Mulk and 102 Not Out. The actor was last seen in Emraan Hashmi’s The Body and had recently announced his next project, a remake of Hollywood film The Intern, also featuring Deepika Padukone.

A wonderful actor, Rishi Kapoor will always be alive in our hearts. He will be greatly missed.

shall meet again.. condolences to Sutapa and Babil.. you too fought, Sutapa you gave everything possible in this fight. Peace and Om shanti. Irfaan Khan salute,” he
wrote.

The singer, Kanika Kapoor best known for songs like Baby Doll and Da Da Dasse, became the first B-Town celeb to test positive for COVID-19. Kanika Kapoor, who had allegedly flown into India from London 10 days ago, claimed that she began to develop flu-like symptoms four days ago. Confirming the news on Instagram, Kanika wrote, “Hello everyone, For the past 4 days I have had signs of flu, I got myself tested and it came positive for Covid-19. My family and I are in complete quarantine now and following medical advice on how to move forward. The contact mapping of people I have been in touch with is underway as well.

Speaking to news18 over the phone, Bollywood singer Kanika Kapoor said, “I was in London with my children I live between London and Lucknow. I came back on 9th March my full screening was done at the airport it was absolutely fine and there was form were filled there was complete clarification. I was not told any point by anybody that I need to quarantine or any sort of any information was given to me I came from London via Bombay to Lucknow and since I have been in Lucknow met my parents and was staying at my own house.”

“Well we are all childhood family friends and we have all grown up together, it was the birthday of one of our friend and there was a small family get together. Our parents along with official people of the country over there also it was small get together on 13th March. I called authorities myself when I saw symptoms. “

Mohit Chauhan can be termed as one of the finest singers from the golden Indian Pop music scene. The band hit a glass ceiling with their track “Dooba Dooba” from the album Boondein in 1998, which became an overnight success. He came out with another album named “Pehchaan” which was applauded by masses and critics alike. After a decade of receiving success the band dissolved in 2008 but it did not affect Mohit’s route to success. He released a solo album named “Kalam” which worked on poems written by Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam.

His Bollywood career started in 2002 with “Pehli Nazar Mein Dari Thi” for the movie Road. In 2007 he was part of the singing reality show named Mission Ustaad on 9x teaming with Vasundhara Das. Again, he again came in a reality show where he leads the team, Mohit’s Fighters, in Music Ka Maha Muqqabla.

Mohit’s work in “Khoon Chala,” “Masakali,” “Tum Se Hi” and “Tune Jo Na Kaha” was heavily praised throughout the country. He has been awarded Filmfare awards, three Zee Cine Awards, an IFFA Award, and one Screen Award. For his work in the industry, he was designated on 81st place on Forbes India list of 2012 celebrity list.
