More than often it is claimed that music does not needs word to complete it as it is whole in itself. But, majority of times we have realized that words can give more meaning to music.  Language is the key to make good music great. It provides a framework and structure for music to prosper and most importantly, it imparts emotions to a track.

There are so many lyrically brilliant songs made in our industry that listing few of them makes us unfair. Our film industry has been graced by many geniuses who have helped in creating marvelous tracks through their wordplay. These artists have given Bollywood music the authenticity and legitimacy it craves for.

Back in the day legends like Anand Bakshi and Shakeel Badyuni were more interested in producing songs with a poetic touch. Their thought process made those songs timeless and outstanding.  Apart from them we have been lucky to witness poets like Gulzar and Javed Akhtar whose artistry is still unmatched in Bollywood.

We have been curious and cautious enough to only include those songs that have had a great impact on the way lyrics are penned in our industry. These songs are different and do not include the bar to bar poetry style mostly used in our industry today.
