One of the few musical marvels in the last decade, Yo Yo Honey Singh is back in Bollywood with a bang. The celebrated rapper and music producer is essentially providing full time services to his personal projects now. His remake of the chartbuster song “Dil Chori” can be marked as the start of another journey which can hamper the business of his competitors.
It must be noted that Yo Yo has made a comeback after suffering from medical illness- a bipolar disorder which prevented him from making music for 2 years. The 35-year-old Indi-pop singer has thanked his fans for the love and support they have poured throughout this time. In his words, “It is the love of my fans that motivates me to create new and interesting tracks every time.”
Due to his extensive knowledge over electronic music he has been able to create catchy dance numbers again. Songs like Rangtaari from Loveratri and Urvashi have all gone to top YouTube charts. The music video of the song Urvashi was graced by Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani in collaboration with T-Series which became an instant hit.
Currently, Yo Yo is experiencing huge success due to “Billionaire” a song he sang and composed for Saif Ali Khan starrer Bazaar. The song is No.1 trending track on YouTube and is expected to maintain its position in the top 5 section for a long time. Apart from good and refreshing music Honey Singh has also become quite active on social media, especially on Instagram where he has 1.3 M followers. Although the numbers are not fascinating, we should consider the fact the app only gained momentum after the rapper when on for a break.
After, creating new chartbusters, his popularity is set to rise again keeping the upcoming wedding season in mind. One might complain that all of his tracks are based around the same theme, but that’s what he is paid for. Many music composers have admitted his merit in music production.
As of now, he is busy making music for a list of underlying projects with his new team. It is a matter of time till people accept his voice again and dance on the beats as they did between 2006-2015. We hope that he creates bigger and better songs and live a healthier lifestyle. It’s time for us to stand in respect for the person who single-handedly changed the Indian music scenario forever.
